Riding History and Biography:
Harry owned his FIRST motorcycle, a 350 Triumph, for over a year before he ever bought his first car. He sold that FIRST motorcycle over 30 years ago with the firm belief that he would get another one soon. He bought his SECOND motorcycle, a Harley-Davidson, in March of 1998. The main question in his mind since then has been, "WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG?"

Harry is an Electrical Engineer who has been at INVISTA (formerly DuPont) for over 31 years. He is also into bicycling, is formerly a Marathon runner, sings in the Waynesboro Choral Society, and keeps griping about our Sunday morning meetings!  Harry was the chairman of our Motorcycle Raffle in '99 which raised $10,000.00 for NEW DIRECTIONS, INC. and he and JURDY started our first H.O.G. chapter Web Page that year. Harry was our H.O.G. Chapter Safety Director for the year 2000. In 2001 & 2002 Harry served as WEBMASTER for SHENANDOAH HOG. In 2001 He was webmaster for the Virginia State Hog Rally.  In 2003 & 2004 Harry has taken a rest from office and is just hustling raffle tickets.  (1st place 2002, 3rd place 2003)
Present Ride:
Harry is on a 1996 Dyna Convertible, silver and black. The original 80" EVO had these Modifications: STD high compression heads, cam, and a Hi-4 Single fire ignition.  It pumped out almost 80 h.p. and 80 ft. lbs. of torque at the rear wheel.   SO WHAT!  That engine is gone.   The DYNA now has a 113" S&S engine that was broken in with a quick trip to DAYTONA and back in 2001.     The new motor Dyno's out at 101 h.p. and 107 ft-lbs. of torque with no special work.  After a tour on the ROLLING THUNDER DYNO, (with baffles removed) we saw a 111 h.p. and 123.5 ft-lbs. of torque.

This bike has a Rev-Tech 6-speed transmission, new White BROTHERS SUPER E pipes, (not in the picture yet!) RoadKing Leather Bags, a few chrome accessories, and for a while it had a CB/AM/FM/CASSETTE system and hookups for electric clothes.   The last big adventure was a ride to ALASKA and back in May of 2002.   GREAT TRIP, CHECK IT OUT!   (Radios and Electric hookups back off now but came in handy!)  Last long trip was Daytona 2003.   Harry had a wreck in Apriol 2003 that shattered his right hip.  NOT ON A HARLEY!  Harry wrecked on his bicycle.   Recovery going okay and he is back riding bicycles and both Harleys in the garage
More about Ann:
Ann started riding by September '98 and first bought a 500cc Honda Shadow.  She bought a 2000 ROAD KING CLASSIC from Shenandoah Harley-Davidson in April 2000.  She had outgrown her Honda and often swiped Harry's Harley when he wasn't there to stop her. Now that she has the ROAD KING, Harry often borrows HER Harley (especially when it is raining or snowing)! The Road King started out black, but Ann has always liked the "DREAMSICLE" color scheme ever since she saw it on a Heritage Softail.   So her ROAD KING was custom painted by KINGS RESTORATION outside of Roanoke.  The only other custom touch is her new Tachometer.  So far she is resisting all suggestions to go for the BIG BORE KIT or louder pipes!

Ann teaches 7th grade English at Stuarts Draft Middle School. She is also into bicycling (she wrecks a lot less than Harry!) on leave from the Choral Society, and into PETS (currently at 1 dog and 3 cats), and PLANTS (ask Harry about her inside "jungle").
